New Staff at HHAS
Hi my name is Linda and I have just started working part time here at Pozhet. I am going to be involved in the World Aids Day project and will also be creating a resource for carers and family affected by hiv within our service. I have just moved to Sydney from the South Island of New Zealand so am loving the warm weather that you refer to as winter! I am really excited about working here and look forward to meeting and working alongside you all.

Since the last blog we have been working super hard on our new resources and delivering training to lots of service providers around the state. We have also been very busy collating and analysing all the data from our needs assessment and service review, a big thank you to all who filled them out for us!
We’ve had our first Women’s Day at our new Centre in Redfern; a great opportunity to meet up and discuss staying healthy, relationships and relaxing.
Our next event will be a Treatment Forum on Friday 16th July, 6-9pm at the Tree of Hope in Surry Hills. Mark the date in your diary! Don’t miss out!
Don’t forget to log onto the webforum! It’s a great opportunity to connect with others! Make sure you leave a message on the forum; ask questions, let us know what’s affecting you or tell us about what you’ve heard.
If you haven’t registered yet it’s easy; Click on the ‘register’ link and make up a nickname for yourself, and you will soon receive a confirmation email to let you know that you have been registered. All messages are anonymous and are moderated by the Pozhet team. What are you waiting for?
On a sad note, Jess is leaving the service! She has had the most wonderful year here at Pozhet and is going to miss everyone very much! We have all loved working with Jess and wish her well in future ventures.

Another month, another blog!
With Kate travelling for the past month the Pozhet offices have been a little quiet but very very busy none the less!
In the past month we’ve headed up to Newcastle for a BBQ, worked with Family Planning NSW to present a module in their sexuality short course, attended Camp Goodtime (a 3 day camp for families affected by HIV), and attended and presented at two conferences in less than a week! I’m pretty sure that qualifies us as being very busy!
Now that we’re almost back to full strength we will be planning our Women’s Day which is on the 21st of May at The Redfern Health Centre, doing some more training with Family Planning NSW and getting our new resources ready to be published!
Phew!
I think I need a holiday!
19 March 2010
Another blog, another few weeks of madness in the Pozhet offices!
Firstly, an apology to all those who missed out on our Spirituality Open House as a result of receiving our mailout literally after the event. There was a lot of confusion and technology issues with our move into the new Redfern Community Health Centre and so we apologise!
In our latest mailout I hope you all noticed the flyer for our trip up to Newcastle on the 17th April. It’s going to be a great day out and please get in contact with the Pozhet team for more information and to book your place on the bus!
While the Berry retreat was an out of control success, I have to admit I was a little disappointed that no one capsized or got hit with a crazy arrow, all I got to see was some pretty impressive bruises!
As mentioned above we have moved! All contact details and numbers are the same but we are now located at 103-105 Redfern St, Redfern 2016.
Since the last blog, not only have we had our Berry retreat and a Spirituality Open House but we’ve also travelled to Newcastle to conduct training, developed a new training package and launched the Women and HIV Factsheets, which are available on our website. In addition to all this, one of our team members, not mentioning any names (!), has departed on a very exciting and very need long holiday, leaving the rest of us very jealous and very much looking forward to their return!
Until next time………

Hello!
I know what you’re all thinking….it’s been a long time since the last Pozhet blog! What’s going on over there!? Well…..the truth is it’s been crazy over here! We’ve got members of the team limping around, others getting extreme hair cuts but all working very hard in some very sticky weather!
In the last little while the team has headed up to Gosford to conduct training and will be off to Newcastle soon as well! (Look out for information about our client event trip to Newcastle in April!). We’ve also got our Berry retreat on over the weekend (19th-21st Feb) which I’m sure is going to be a blast! All those who unfortunately are unable to make it to the retreat cant wait to hear stories of arrows going awry and kayaks tipping over! The other important question we will all be asking is wether or not there is a master chef challenge because believe it or not, we’re already thinking about the master chef challenge that will take place at the September retreat!
We hope everyone is happy and well despite the sunny, humid, raining, sunny, hot, raining, humid humid humid humid weather!
19 January 2010
The Pozhet team would like to welcome you all to 2010, we hope everyone had a lovely holiday and New Year!
The team enjoyed their break by spending time with family and friends, swimming at the beach, playing with their puppies, eating way too much delicious food and of course watching the cricket!
Here at Pozhet, we have to admit that we’ve been excited for 2010 since September! We’ve been planning away, ensuring that this year is going to be a new, exciting, different and a progressive year for the service. We’re all pretty excited and we hope you are too!
This year at Pozhet we have some new events such as day trips and an extra retreat as well as old favourites like open houses. The team is also busy writing resources, attending hundreds of meetings and working in partnership with other services and organisations to make sure you receive the best possible services.
Even though the team is crazy busy already, do not fear, there will be plenty hilarious events to blog about and hopefully a few more rounds of colouring in and cooking competitions between Kate and Jess!
