Hi everyone
as you may have seen on our homepage, we have a few things coming up. Susan has organised a 'make that change' group for women which will run on Wednesday nights for 8 weeks starting on the 13 October. It sounds as if its going to be a great group so if you are interested get in contact with Susan on 1800 812 404 or through email at pozhet@pozhet.org.au. You can also click on the links from the homepage to get you through. And of course we have the annual retreat from the 24th to 26th September - registration is open now so be in quick!
I am starting to get together a resource for the people who help support and/or care for individuals who are hiv positive (so partners, friends, family) - I would really love feedback as to what you think would be helpful and useful to know. I usually work Wednesday to Friday and you can contact me directly on my email linda.dirkzwager@sswahs.nsw.gov.au or by phone 1800 812 404.
on a completely different note, as you may remember I am new to Australia and have been taking in your sights. I have been to the blue mountains, saw your three sisters and last weekend I went to the taronga zoo where I saw my first tasmanian devil! they are not scary as I had imagined and look nothing like the Taz cartoon on tv. I think they are rather cute and I loved the wombats too! Possums and wallabies are such a pest at home that it was weird seeing them at the zoo as an attraction. If you haven't been to the zoo it is worth going. The free bird flight show was really cool and of course the two baby elephants have huge cute factor. My next adventure is to go up a bit further north of sydney in a rent a dent car and visit some beaches and seaside villages - can't wait!
Hope you are all enjoying the sun and look forward to reading some posts on the forum,
Linda
